Berkeley High Crew’s first Learn-to-Row Camp of Summer 2014 was a success, with 32 campers learning the ABCs of a new sport and getting on the water with current Berkeley High varsity athletes and coaches.
Campers learned the basics of crew, including rowing terminology, equipment handling and, of course, how to row.
Berkeley High Crew is offering two more Learn-to-Row camps this summer: July 21 – 25 and August 18 – 22. To learn more and register on-line visit our Summer Camps Page.
Berkeley High Crew is happy to be hosting our annual Spring Learn-to-Row Day on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 9:00 AM. Participants will:
- Learn the basics of rowing from Berkeley High coaches
- Practice rowing on land on a rowing machine
- Row on the water in our training barge
- Meet current Berkeley High rowers and coxswains
- Learn about the rowing team at Berkeley High School
- Have Fun!
Light snacks will be provided, but we encourage everyone to bring a water bottle and hat (for sun protection) and to wear sunscreen. Dress in layers and wear comfortable, athletic clothing – sweatpants or shorts are fine. (Avoid baggy, basketball-style shorts because they can get caught in the equipment.)
The Learn-to-Row Day is free, but please RSVP. More information is available on our Learn-to-Row Day page. Still have questions? Email us: email@example.com
Date: Saturday, May 10, 2014
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Jack London Aquatic Center (115 Embarcadero, Oakland)
Registration for Summer 2014 camps is now open.
Both Learn-to-Row camp and returning Varsity Camps are offered over the summer. Visit our Summer Camps page for more information and to register online.
