Calling all Berkeley High rowers, parents and coaches — past and present!
Was rowing a BIG PART of your high school experience?
Do you fondly recall crisp early mornings on the Estuary, watching the sun creep over the horizon with close friends?
Are you curious to learn how the considerate community of student athletes and parents is keeping the sport alive and well for future generations at BHS?
Please join us in celebrating a HALF CENTURY of friendships, memories and brutal 2K’s at Berkeley’s Ashkenaz on Sunday May 13th!
The evening will be informal — a time to chat and reminisce while soaking in the blues from the accomplished David Landon Band. All ages are welcome.
For additional details, please see the event page at the Ashkenaz web site.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Athletes and parents: Please let your friends and family know that we have added a second free Learn-to-Row event, on Sunday May 27 from 9 AM to noon.
The team usually hosts one introductory event each year, but our April 15 occasion is already full and interest from our curious community remains very high. Our mindful coaching staff stepped up to make sure that any middle-schooler who is interested will have the chance to spend some time out on our beautiful Bay.

Friends of Berkeley High: Here is a great opportunity to enjoy some of Berkeley’s best Mexican food while benefiting our hard-working student athletes.
On Thursday April 12th, sit down for dinner at Picante and 20% of all sales collected with this flyer will go to the Berkeley High Crew team!
Why Picante? Jim Maser, the owner of the popular family-friendly restaurant, was on Berkeley High’s very first rowing team in 1967! Thank you Jim, for your continued support of the boys and girls at Berkeley High School.
P.S. I recommend the watermelon agua fresca — one of my favorites!
After a well deserved break for the holidays, the boys and girls of Berkeley High Crew are back to training. The short winter days mean more hours on the ergs and in the weight room, but full afternoon practices on the Estuary will resume soon enough.
The coaching staff has been busy arranging this year’s racing calendar. Here is the latest — very much subject to change as the details are ironed out!
